When you book a customer into a recurring series of appointments, the app automatically sends a few emails about it: a confirmation, a reminder for each appointment and a notice if you move one. Here's what each email includes and how to edit its wording.
What does the confirmation email for a recurring series include?
When a customer books a recurring series, they get one confirmation email for the whole series, rather than a separate email for each appointment.
That confirmation includes:
the date and time of the first appointment in the series
the recurring pattern, including the end date if you've set one
the next 5 dates in the series
It also comes with a .ics calendar file, so the customer can add the whole series to their calendar in one go.
When does my customer get a reminder for an appointment?
For each individual appointment in the series, the app sends its own reminder email, separate from the confirmation for the whole series.
You set how many hours in advance that reminder goes out under 'Settings' > 'Calendar settings' > 'Reminder settings'.
What happens when I move an appointment in the series?
If you move an appointment in the series, the customer gets a separate email about it.
So it's clear which appointment moved, that email includes:
the original date and time of the appointment
the recurring pattern of the series
the next 5 dates in the series
Can I edit the wording of automated emails?
Yes. Under 'Messages' > 'Email templates', you can edit the subject and content of every email, including the confirmation, reminder and appointment-moved emails for a recurring series.
Each email also shows you which variables you can use in the text, like previous_date or first_five_dates_list.
